10. Conclusion

In this blog I learnt a lot of things about tortoises and turtles, things that I didn't know...Before I've never used the blog to write... but I think that I learn a lot of English, because I have to thing the order of sentences... Make this blog bring me news ideas, in this summer I try to do a web page. The blog was a little introduction to me in the world of the webs. Because? xD the advice of google.

9. In our territory, we can localitzate turtles¿?

The turtles and tortoises now are your favourite animal?? You can visit the Garriguella park, where they have a center that control all the poblation of tortoises(of the place) and the tortoises and turtles that the someone person can't have, because have a hight size.

This is a center that his principal aim is increase the poblation of tortoises that live in this site. they have instalations destined for the baby in captivity of the Mediterranean tortoise. The tortoise is in extincion and they facilities the reincorporation of the specie in the territory.

8. Can you have this animal?

The turtles and tortoises can be domestic, but it's a shame, because they are capturated by the humans and they could live in a better habit and better conditions that like their.

The turtles need water, and then you need a big puddle. The tortoise can supervive in the ground, the best form to vigilate them is close in a small territory.

If you remember what this animals eat, (one entry that its under...) you can buy a special eat to this animals, but the best for the tortoise is give he a nutritive vegetables and turtles give hi a small chunks of jam.

This animals need a good care and dedication. In the hibernation station (winter) you have to keep it or give a protection.

7. Hibernation

When the temperature goes down and they diminish the hours of light the tortoises diminish his metabolism and his temperature, not realizing any activity until the conditions improve.

In captivity, if the animal lives in a closed and hot environment it is possible that progressively the period of hibernation diminishes and even it disappears, being the active animal and eating the whole year. ¨
In animal it must get used to the destined place and to the reigning conditions in this site. If it lives outdoors there it must be the whole year and it is not necessary to enter it neither in winter or when it rains.

6. The first steps

When the turtles and tortoises born, they haven't got the protecction of the parents and can die, kill for a predator or the simple thing that they never find the sea ( if it is a turtle). The food can be a problem too, because find the suficient energy it's dificult.

In the photo we can observe the life cycle of one turtle. But when the turtle put the eggs, the cycle restarts another time. The turtles and tortoises can live aproximatly 80 years or more.
This reptils put a lot of eggs because the 100 eggs can supervive 20.


For the turtles one problem also are the waves because it make that the turtles can't entry to sea.
Once entered the sea the turtles are sure and the possibilities of supervive increases.

5.The new generation

The new generation born aproximatly in spring and summer. The littles turtles when they just to born, they have to superate a difficult test. they have to go to the land since the sea. This is a difficult test for them, because the birds like the gulls, eat them. When the male turtles go at the sea, NEVER return to the beach, but the female have to return to put the eggs.

The tortoises, have a born easier than turtles, because they born and they go to hide under of one plant and other thing.

The size of this animals is relatively small. 5/6 cm are the size. The photo of the right it's a tortoise, and we can observate that the size is very small, comparate with the fruit. In the left we can se the turtle go out to the egg.

4. Their reproduction

The tortoises reproduces in the ground. The act is very long. They need a lot of space because they have to walk a lot and explore the territory. The tortoise male does a sound with the nose and expels air, and slapping with his caparison in the caparison of the female. If the female wants, they do the act of reproduction. After the female search a place to put his eggs. The place need to have the perfect conditions. One place that the predators can't find, a place that have the adecuate temperature, aproximatly 25/30º and this place is under the ground. Normaly the female search a place that have water, and food for the littles tortoises.

The turtles have an a diferent form to apareate. The male search a female and make a dance to attract the female and this way to be able to fertilize her. After the turtle go out of water and in the beach put his eggs under the land. The conditions aren't important because the little turtles when they born, they go since water. But the turtles also have to vigilate and bury well the eggs, because there are a lot of predators.

3. What they eat?

All the tortoises are vegetarian, they are the more pacifics and eat vegetables, and wild herbs. The photo of the left are herbs that live in the field. There are a lot of types of the herbs, but not always can eat any type of herb since can be dangerous to the tortoise.
The photo of the right, are one crustacean, that are a small animals that live in the sea or in the rivers. The size can change as the age or the type of turtle that eat.

We can observate one of the most high diference of the two animals, to part of the place that they live.
